Tabriz mayor urged the necessity of commercializing knowledge-based experiences and introducing them as an investment package in 2023 Int’l Tabriz investment opportunities Summit, on 6 November.
Reported by the communications of investment and public participation organization of Tabriz municipality, Tabriz mayor, in the meeting of the supreme council of investment, stated that the created opportunities in neighboring countries such as Russia and Turkey are promising, but the conditions for the presence of investors from the countries should be provided in Tabriz.
Yaghoub Houshyar on his part added:” Our goal is to identify those who can help the municipality in the field of investment and attracting investors”.
Referring to the invitation of domestic investors, Houshyar reminded that they want to identify investors from neighboring countries, with a good relationship with the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce or the association of mass housing builders of the country.
He later in his remarks added:” The summit is not only for the urban management, and we believe that if the investment is also made in the field of production, it will be the stable revenue for the city and the province”.
The mayor of Tabriz while pointing out that a change of investment perspective is needed to achieve success in this field, noting that the previous view of investment, granting empty land and building permits and constructing by the investor in return, is obsolete and they must change their view in this field.
Houshyar further noted:” Knowledge-based companies are taking outstanding measures in the field of urban management and have a plan for problems such as air, water, and environmental pollution, currently implemented in most of the countries.
He expressed that the experiences of knowledge-based institutions can be commercialized and made available to the city. “The commercialization of the issues should also be conducted with the cooperation of the chamber of commerce, industries, mining, and the municipality”, said he.
During the meeting, the vice-chairman of the Islamic Council of Tabriz on his part stated that the mayor and his colleagues in Tabriz municipality will make great efforts to hold the conference, but both the chamber of commerce and the association of mass housing builders of the country can also cooperate in this direction.
Ali Navaye Baghban, Referring to the pre-event of the international investment summit in Dubai and Turkey, said: “We can organize a pre-event for the international investment conference in Tabriz and attract at least 50 investors of Tabriz to the summit”.
He later in his remarks added:” We ask for the head of the chamber of commerce of the province to attract investors and introduce the summit in the UAE as the same action started in Germany and we are looking for a contact person in Turkey as well”.
During the meeting, the head of the chamber of commerce of the East Azarbaijan province, emphasizing the broadness of the international summit in different areas of production, urban management, etc., announced that firstly, 20 important projects with specific financial resources and investment profit should be introduced.
Yunus Jaele further added that with the identification of investment projects, they must look for Iranian and foreign investors and should not neglect the support of the government and the foreign investment unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
He stressed that considering automobile manufacturing, the municipality is looking for sustainable revenue, and if it is launched, the province's revenue will increase considerably.
In this meeting, the head of the association of mass housing builders of the country emphasized regenerating worn-out textures as a proposed package in the investment conference, saying that all governmental and executive organizations should be involved in the summit so that a new case is not opened in the field of investment.
Jamshid Barzegar elsewhere added:” The investor should have more than 25% profit from the investment because the bank rate is now 25-27%”.
He also reminded that they should not ignore the earthquake in Turkey, because the earthquake affected the economy of Turkey for 10 years, and they should present the regeneration of the worn-out urban textures as a proposal package.
The urban planning and architecture deputy mayor, during the meeting, on his part, while stating that the field of housing and urban regeneration is one of the investment items, noted:” out of 24 thousand hectares of the urban texture of Tabriz, 7 thousand hectares is worn out, the regeneration of which requires facilities.
Mohammad Ezzati further criticized the bill of the 7th National Development Plan, reminding that the only issue of the 7th Development Plan concerning municipalities is to spend half of their revenue on urban regeneration.
Reza Khalili, the CEO of the investment and public participation organization of Tabriz municipality also on his part highlighted the cooperation with the province's Chamber of Commerce and the association of mass housing builders of the country in communicating and attracting investors.
